William W Wall

William Willson Wall, 63, of Moncks Corner, S.C., entered into eternal rest on April 8, 2011, after a long and courageous battle with ALS. He was a former Export Department Supervisor with International Forwarders, Inc., Charleston; and later an Export Associate with Maersk, Inc., Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

William was born September 18, 1947, in Moncks Corner, the youngest child of the late Thomas Aiken Wall and Kathleen Law Wall.

He was a graduate of Berkeley High School where he was a star athlete in basketball, baseball and track sports. He attended Anderson Junior College on an athletic scholarship, and graduated from College of Charleston in 1971. He played center forward position for the college's basketball team, The Maroons.

He was a former church leader and Youth Volunteer at First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, where he was a member. He was a beloved friend and mentor to several generations of young people at church and in the community.

He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay R. Wall and his son, Michael W. Wall, both of Charleston, S.C.; a sister - Mary W. Loftis and her husband, Larry, of Greenville, S.C.; two brothers - Thomas A. Wall, Jr. and his wife, Tami, of Travelers Rest, SC; and Victor E. Wall and his wife, Linda, of Apopka, FL; his former wife, Ruth P. Wall; and special caregiver, Kathryn Pfaehler of Charleston.

His funeral service was held in First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner Monday morning, April 11, 2011, at 11 o'clock. Interment followed in St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery, Pinopolis, S.C., directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner.
