William “Bill” Seawell Ivey, of Moncks Corner, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021.
Mr. Ivey was born in Seven Springs, NC, the son of Charles Wesley Ivey and Francis Kivett. He was the widower of Margretta Hauglie Ivey. Prior to his marriage, he was a Trappist Monk for 33 years, known as Father Bernard.
He was a WWII veteran, having served in the Navy, and was a member of the Washington Hunt Club.
Mr. Ivey was a very caring, generous person, and had a special place in his heart for Clarence Brown, whom he mentored. Mr. Brown received an education with the help of Mr. Ivey, became a very successful businessman, and traveled the world before retiring and coming back to Moncks Corner to help care for Mr. Ivey in his final years.
He is survived Susan Hauglie Sykes, Margaret Hauglie Wilcox, many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
