William Harrison Holmes

William Harrison Holmes Sr., 72, of St. Stephen, retired owner of R & B Heating and Air, husband of Rosalind Holmes passed away Sunday March 8, 2015.

William was born October 26, 1942, in Vincent, Alabama, son of John Bradford Holmes and Essie Mae Brown Holmes.

He was a dedicated husband of 52 years; a loving father and deacon at First Baptist Church of Bonneau. He served in the US Marine Corps and enjoyed playing golf every Saturday with his son Billy.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons- William “Billy” Holmes Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, of St. Stephen; John M. Holmes of Cowen W. Virginia; four sisters- Faye Mcguire and her husband, Billy Ray, of Vincent, Al.; Sara Nell Alexander and her husband, Billy Gene, of Leeds Al.; Craig Taylor of Vincent, Al.; Ruby Harris and her husband, Clayburn, of Leeds, Al.; three grandchildren- Brittany Holmes, William Holmes III, and Justin Holmes; two great grandchildren- C.J. Haynes and J.T. Haynes.

His funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Bonneau, Thursday afternoon, March 12, 2015, at 4 o’ clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 p.m. until the hour of service.
