TOXEY, D. Wayne, 70, of Cross, retired insurance agent, and husband of Tina Driggers Toxey, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015.
Wayne was born November 5, 1944, in Birmingham, AL, son of Thelmer J. Toxey and Kathryn Harrison Toxey.
He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and had served in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy. Wayne ‘s main hobbies were watching Alabama football and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters – Beth Clary and her husband, Archie, of Odum, GA.; and Angela T. Stone and her husband, Anthony, of Cross; a son – David D. Toxey of Summerville; a sister – Brenda Milburn and her husband, Jerry, of Gardendale, AL.; a sister-in-law – Patricia Toxey of Fultondale, AL; 7 grandchildren – Seth Clary; Aaron Clary; Tyler Toxey; Addyson Stone; Avery Stone; Randolph Crosby; and Olivia Crosby; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother – James Toxey.
His funeral service will be held at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, MONCKS CORNER, Tuesday afternoon, January 13, 2015, at 2 o’clock. Interment will follow in Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cross. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1230 until the hour of service at 2 o’clock Tuesday.
