Walter Renken Harvey

HARVEY, Walter Renken, 84, of Summerville, widower of Barbara McKelvey Harvey, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014.

Mr. Harvey was born November 15, 1930, in Berkeley County, son of Charles Ney Harvey and Lala Belle Brownlee Harvey.

He was a retired civil service employee and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served as a medic.

Surviving are a son- James B. Harvey of New Hope; grandchildren- Cheryl Catalano, Kyle Harvey, Amanda Tanner, Brandy Harvey, Christy Nettles, and Walter Nettles; a brother- Theodore Harvey of Florence; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Charles E. Harvey; two daughters- Linda A. Nettles and Gail H. Varner; and several brothers and sisters.

His funeral service will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church, Saturday November 29, 2014 at 12 noon, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
