Thurmond T. ("Shotgun") Bolen

Thurmond Temple Bolen “Shotgun”, 79, of Summerville, widower of Theresa Mason Bolen, entered his heavenly home Wednesday July 29, 2020.

Thurmond was born November 24, 1940 in Augusta, Georgia a son of the late Bowman Henry Bolen and the late Inez Hair Bolen.

A retired supervisor for Fluor Daniels Construction, Thurmond was a member of Greater Heights Church in Moncks Corner. He loved spending time with his family, traveling, working, talking on his cell phone and fishing. Thurmond enjoyed telling stories, cutting up and playing jokes on you. He had a unique laugh that would brighten up any room, he will be sadly missed.

Surviving are his children- Travis Bolen and his wife, Michelle; Clint Bolen and his wife, Jessica; Ferris Bolen and his wife, Priscilla; Chris Bolen and his wife, Joyce; Theresa Peters and her husband, Larry; Janet Bolen; step son- Tim Watkins and his wife, Crystal and step daughter- Stephanie Barr; his loving sister- Faye Bodiford and her husband, James; 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. In addition to his beloved wife, Theresa and his parents, Mr. Bolen was predeceased by a sister- Barbara Blackman and a brother- Lanier Bolen.

A graveside service directed by Russell Funeral Chapel will be held at Blackville Cemetery, Hampton Avenue and State Road 392, Blackville SC 29817, Saturday morning, August 1, 2020 at 11 o’clock.  Friends are welcome to visit the family this week at the home of Travis and Michelle Bolen, 1300 Whitehouse Road, Summerville, SC 29486.
