Thomas Hampton Jordan, 83, of Summerville (Cooper Store Community), retired auto mechanic, husband of Edna Ward Jordan passed away Wednesday evening, August 13, 2014, in a North Charleston hospital.
Tommy was born March 30, 1931, in Horry County, son of Noah L. Jordan and Reatha Mae Edge Jordan.
He was a retiree of the U. S. Army National Guard, having served in Korea, and was a member of Berkeley Masonic Lodge 269. Tommy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an active member of his church, and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are: 2 daughters – Carolyn Jordan and her husband, David Woodall, of Seymour, TN; and Angela J. Caddell of Moncks Corner; a son – T. Harley Jordan of Summerville; 2 sisters – Medra Guyton of Summerville; and Sarah Jo Dempsey and her husband, Robert, of Summerville; 2 brothers – Burnie Jordan and Kenneth Jordan, both of Ladson; 5 grandchildren – Eugene Sweat and his wife, Kathy; Nicole Welch and her husband, Shannan; Charles Roach and his wife, Canaan; Jordan Caddell and Rebecca Caddell; and a great grandson – Dirk Welch.
His funeral service will be held in New Hope United Methodist Church Saturday morning, August 16, 2014, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL between 6 and 8 o’clock Friday evening.
