Sylvester Casselman 76, of St. Stephen, husband of Barbara Parrott Casselman, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, in a Charleston hospital.
He was born November 4, 1936, in Andrews, the son of Beauford Casselman and Hessie Fulton Casselman.
Sylvester retired from Albany International and had retired from the Army National Guard after serving 32 years. Having a general love of the outdoors, he was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He dearly loved his grandson.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his daughter - Deborah "Debbie" Casselman (Don Ayers)of St. Stephen; a son - Ritchie Casselman (Trish)of St. Stephen; 5 brothers - Harris Casselman (Vickie); J. W. Casselman; Bruce Casselman (Glenda); Carl Casselman (Bobbi Ann) all of Andrews; Harold Casselman (Margi) of Ohio; 4 sisters-Harriett"Teddy" Ethridge; and Carolyn Fulton (Phillip);and Barbara Tisdale all of Andrews; and Gennelle Young (Marion) of N.C.; a grandson - Jacob Logan Casselman. He was predeceased by a sister - Dorothy Tex Fulton Rogerson and his step-mother - Juanita Ward Casselman.
His funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of St. Stephen on Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 2013, at 4 o'clock. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner, Tuesday evening, February 26, bewteen 6 and 8 o'clock.
