Stuart Turner

George Stuart Turner, 81, of Moncks Corner, passed away December 17, 2011, at Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, S.C.

Stuart was born August 23, 1930, in Charleston, S. C., the son of George Franklin Pierce Turner and Cleo Spell Turner.

He was a graduate of Porter Military Academy and received his Civil Engineering Degree from the Citadel. Of the Methodist faith, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Goose Creek Lodge 401 AFM. Stuart had retired from the S.C. State Ports Authority as a Civil Engineer.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Heath Turner; two sons – George S. Turner II of Moncks Corner; and Robert P. "Bobby" Turner and his wife, Jennifer, of James Island; five grandchildren –Mackenzie M. Turner; Taylor S. Turner; Josh Paul Stuart Turner; Allison E. Turner and Heath P. Turner; two step grandchildren – Andrew L. Annibale and Casey L. Annibale.

His funeral service will be at Russell Funeral Chapel, Wednesday morning, December 21, 2011, at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel Tuesday evening between 6 and 8 o'clock.
