Stevens Harvey Wiley, Jr., 80, of Moncks Corner, husband of the late Mary Jean Woodward Wiley, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
Stevens was born April 18, 1942, in Lafayette, GA, the son of Stevens Harvey Wiley, Sr., and Tula Baker Wiley.
In his earlier years, Stevens served his country honorably in the US Marine Corp. and later became a skilled carpenter and worked in construction for the better part of his life. Mr. Wiley was known by his CB friends as “The Bald Eagle”. He will be fondly remembered as a man who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are four daughters- Donna Nix of Warrenton, VA; Antionette Cambron of Moncks Corner; Heidi Fabre of Summerville; Gretel Bryant and her husband, Charlie of Summerville; three sisters- Jane Fairchild of Moncks Corner; Libby Gaskins and her husband, Gene of Macedonia; Sarah Hare and her husband, Davey of Pinopolis; a brother- George Wiley and his wife, Pamela of Rome, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by two brothers- Stanley Wiley and Richard Wiley; two sisters- Josephine Wilson and Mary Linda Player; and a son-in-law- Eric Fabre.
Mr. Wiley’s funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel Friday morning, June 17, 2022, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 o’clock until the hour of service.
