Shirley Ann Steichen, 81, of Bethera, a retired inspector for North Hand Protection, passed away Wednesday December 30, 2020 at her residence surrounded by family and friends.
Shirley was born January 14, 1939 in Greeley, Colorado a daughter of the late Pearl Trujillo Lujan.
Creating her own family was very important to Shirley, she was “A loving and awesome Mother,” she made everyone feel like they belonged. She was so loved and admired by her children’s friends, they all referred to her as “Mom”. Her grandson lovingly called her “Little Grandma”. Shirley had served in the US Navy and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Moncks Corner. She was an avid reader who enjoyed crocheting and watching Jeopardy and will be sadly missed.
Surviving are a daughter- Anita M. McDaniel and her husband, Lee, of Lexington, SC; a son- Rob Steichen and his wife, Monica, of Bethera; grandchildren- Megan Citrano of Fla. and Teri Steichen of Bethera; Numerous great grandchildren. Shirley is predeceased by a granddaughter- Amanda Jacques and a grandson- Robert “Robbie” Penfield.
Her funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Monday morning January 4, 2021 at 11 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Bethera, directed by Russell funeral Chapel.
