Shirley Welch Metts, 81, of Pinopolis, widow of Hager E. Metts, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017.
Shirley was born November 14, 1935, in Berkeley County, a daughter of Gordon Welch and Sadie Wilson Welch.
A member of St. Johns Baptist Church in Pinopolis, Shirley retired from First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner as a Kindergarten teacher. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving are a daughter- Amber M. Weathers and her husband, Don, of Pinopolis; three sons- Mark E. Metts and his wife, Phyllis, of Walterboro; Greg H. Metts of Moncks Corner; Brad P. Metts and his wife, Tracie, of Fullerton, Ca.; five grandchildren- Justin D. Weathers and his wife, Casey; Chad Metts; Caleb M. Metts; Laney P. Metts; Annalise W. Metts; four great grandchildren- Shelbi B. Metts; Hudson J. Weathers; Damon Trosper and Luke Metts; a sister- Lynda W. Causey and her husband, Jim, of Columbia; a brother- Gordon DeLeon Welch of Conyers, Ga.; She was predeceased by a sister- Shelby W. Nottingham.
Her funeral service will be held at St. Johns Baptist Church, Pinopolis, Sunday afternoon, August 27, 2017, at 2 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 4 to 6 o’clock.
