Ruth E. Bracey

Ruth E. Bracey, 88, of Pinopolis, widow of Monroe L. Bracey, passed away January 27, 2011.

She was born September 7, 1922, in Amite, LA, the daughter of Clyde Ellzey and Maude Weathersby Ellzey.

Mrs. Bracey attended schools in Louisiana and was a graduate of Mississippi College for Women. She was a retired school teacher for the Berkeley County School District. She was a member of Smyrna Methodist Church and was co-owner of Bracey's Superette and Bracey & Bracey Real Estate.

Surviving are two daughters - Linda Gilbert and her husband, Dick, of Georgetown, TX; and Kay David and her husband, Joey, of Pinopolis; a son - Bob Bracey and his wife, Linda; a sister - Ann Woodson of Colinga, CA; six grandchildren - Cindy Holland of Ohio; Stacey Kenealy and her husband, Eddie, of Greer; Heather Morse and her husband, David, of Georgetown,TX; Dawn Chaney and her husband, Mark; and Larry David of Roxboro, NC, formerly of Moncks Corner; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson, Bobby Bracey.

Her graveside funeral service will be held in Berkeley Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner, Saturday morning, February 5, 2011, at 11 o'clock, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner.
