Roland E. Nettles, Jr.

Roland E. Nettles, Jr. 67, of Moncks Corner, passed away Thursday April 12, 2018 at his residence.

Roland was born December 5, 1950 in Berkeley County, son of Roland E. Nettles, Sr. and Evelyn Russell Nettles.

A graduate of both Clemson and The Citadel, Roland was a retired English Teacher with the Berkeley County School System. A member of First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner, Roland enjoyed having visitors in his home, playing cards and trivia. He will be sadly missed.

Surviving are a daughter- Caroline E. Nettles of Glendora, Ca; a son- Paul G. Nettles of James Island; two grandchildren- Liam Nettles and Brayden Nettles; a sister- Margaret Ann Pipkin of Chester, Va.; a brother in law- Clark Simpkins of Woodruff, SC. He is predeceased by his parents and sisters- Betty Simpkins and Lynn Geren.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner, Sunday afternoon April 15, 2018, at 3 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the home, 207 California Avenue, Moncks Corner 29461, Saturday afternoon April 14, 2018 from 4 to 6 o’clock. There will be parking available in the field across the street. An additional visitation is scheduled for Sunday at the church, one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 o’clock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 419 West Main Street, Moncks Corner SC 29461.
