Roger G. Blanton, 77, of Bellevue, Nebraska, formerly of Moncks Corner, died Sunday, November 3, 2009, in Bellevue.


A memorial service was held November 5, at 2:00 P.M. at the Bellevue Memorial Chapel.

A memorial service will be held at Biggin Cemetery in Moncks Corner at 10:00 Wednesday morning, November 11, 2009, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel.

Roger was preceded in death by his entire immediate family. He is survived by one Aunt, Ann King of Charleseton,S.C.; one brother-in-law, Donald Nicosia of Las Vegas,NV; and seven nieces and nephews. Roger retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years, in 1971; and from the U.S. Postal Service after 18 years, in 1989.

He was a longtime member of the Omaha Sports Club. He was instrumental in organizine and playing in the first volleyball and softball leagues in the sports club. He was most active playing volleyball, softball, bowling and golf.
