Robert L. Phillips, 61, of Moncks Corner, husband of Nancy Ayers Phillips, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Hospice Center of Charleston
in Mount Pleasant after a long battle with cancer.
Rob was born April 12, 1952, in Walterboro, the son of John C. Phillips and Aretha Cumbee Bloom.
He was an insurance adjuster and was a member of Pinopolis United Methodist Church. He was a very family oriented, loving father, who greatly enjoyed cooking for family and church gatherings. Always a joyful person, he was very active in his church.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son – Brian Eric Phillips and his wife, Nicole, of Charlotte, N.C.: a daughter – Megan Phillips John and her husband, Tommy, of Fort Mill, S.C.; Joey Selbee of Atlanta, GA, whom he raised as a son, a brother – John Phillips, Jr, 3 grandchildren – Evan, Georgia and Rebecca Phillips.
A memorial service in Rob’s honor will be held at Pinopolis United Methodist Church, Saturday morning, September 21, at 11 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service. Russell Funeral Chapel of Moncks Corner is honored to be serving the family at this time of need.
