Richard Jimmy Bean, affectionately known as Richard, departed our world on August 29, 2024, at his home in Bonneau, SC. Born on March 27, 1949, in Ft. Belvoir, VA, he was a son to the late Silas Theodore Bean and Guiseppina Borgo Bean.
Richard leaves behind his beloved wife of 27 years, Deborah Adele Plotts Bean, his son Kevin Bean and wife Tammy, and daughter Sheryl Bean. Stepsons Andy Bell and Cory Bell along with Cory’s wife Kristi, his sister Rosie White and her husband Donald, and brother Johnny Bean with his wife Betty. Also 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons. His sister Barbara Jones preceded him in death.
For over 40 years, Richard dedicated himself to foundation drilling, proudly serving as a supervisor and as a devoted member of Local 77 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. His work ethic was only matched by his enthusiasm for bass fishing, hunting, football, drag racing, and tinkering with anything mechanical. Those who knew Richard will remember him not just for his skilled hands but also for his generous heart and the enduring relationships he built. He will be profoundly missed and forever held dear in the hearts of his loved ones and numerous friends and colleagues.
Memorials can be made to Changed Lives Ministries, 470 Reid Hill Rd., Moncks Corner, S.C. 29461.
