Raymond H. Bowen, 84, of Bonneau, husband of Jean Crawford Bowen, died September 30, 2023.

Ray was born on September 4, 1939, in Camden, South Carolina. He was the son of Lester and Eva Quick Rouse.

Ray was a United States Army Veteran. After serving in the Army, he became a Civil Service employee for the Federal Government, eventually working his way up to supervisor of Naval Housing. After retiring he became involved in rental properties and loved restoring old cars. He was a member of the T-Bird Club and the Ford Club, as well as a Mason. Ray just thoroughly enjoyed people. Always being active in church, he taught Sunday school classes in Goose Creek, Bonneau and Moncks Corner.

Ray is survived by his wife of 62 years; two children, a daughter- Cheri A. Dennis and her husband Lee, of Manning, a son- Scott Bowen and his wife Jennifer, of Goose Creek; four grandchildren- Anna Estes and her husband James, Blaize Dennis, Brooke Laney and her husband Kraig and Drake Bowen.

Mr. Bowen’s funeral will be 11 AM Tuesday morning, October 3, 2023, in the First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Bonneau Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel from 5 -7 PM, Monday evening, October 2, 2023.
