Paul Edward Carlton, Sr., 80, of Bonneau, SC (formerly of Brooksville, FL), U.S. Air Force veteran, and widower of Elizabeth Matilda Prachar Carlton, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, in Moncks Corner, SC, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born August 29, 1932, in Mount Dora, FL, the son of Henry Leon Carlton, Sr., and Leola Key Carlton. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. During the course of over 50 years, he became manager, and later owner, of the family grocery business, Carlton's Suprex, in Brooksville, FL.
Carlton loved his family, the grocery business, the game of golf and good ol' southern gospel music. He attended First Baptist Church of Bonneau.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela C. Banas and her husband, Frank, of Bonneau, SC; two sons - Paul Edward Carlton, Jr., and his wife, Nancy, of Houston, TX; and Fred Leon Carlton and his wife, Linda, of Virginia Beach, VA; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Bonneau on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. Friends and relatives are invited. Arrangements by Russell Funeral Chapel of Moncks Corner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Bonneau, P.O. Box 130, Bonneau, SC 29431.
