Patricia Evans Scott

Mrs. Patricia Evans Scott, 93, of Pinopolis, widow of Wallace W. Scott, Jr., passed away Saturday morning, May 30, 2015, at her residence.

Mrs. Scott was born September 7, 1921, in Orangeburg, daughter of the late Frank D. Evans, Sr. and Eva Carson Evans.

She was a graduate of Providence High School; received her Bachelor of Music Degree from Lander College and Master of Music Degree from College of Charleston. She was a member of Moncks Corner United Methodist Church where she was a member of Scott Sunday School Class and served as the choir director. A member of a number of civic organizations, she had served as president and treasurer of Moncks Corner-Pinopolis Book Club; and on the administrative board of Council on Ministries.

She had been employed by a number of banks, including Bank of Berkeley; and taught school in McCormick public schools; Berkeley Elementary School and Lord Berkeley Academy.

Surviving are a son – W. W. Scott, III and his wife, Kathy, of Pinopolis; daughter – Susan Scott McKenzie and her husband, Randy, of Ravenel; granddaughter – Whitney A. Giavelli and her husband, Frederick, of North Charleston; grandson – Dr. Randy McKenzie, Jr. of Roanoke, VA; and Jason Carter and his wife, Amy, of North Charleston; 2 great grandchildren – Sullivan Amelia and Louis Evan Giavelli; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers – Francis Evans; Carson Evans and David Evans.

The family expresses special thanks to caregivers – Lil Porter and Ramona Battle and to Crissy Howard of Southern Care Hospice.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, June 2, 2015, in Moncks Corner United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church for 1 hour prior to the service (10 - 11 o'clock). Interment will follow in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Providence, S.C. at 1 o'clock.
