Orville Clifford Collins

Orville Clifford Collins, 76, of Moncks Corner, retired crane operator with Heyward Baker Construction, husband of 24 years to Norma Snell Peagler Collins, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

Orville was born May 15, 1938, in Milford, Delaware, son of Harry Lemuel Collins and Edna Davis Collins.

He was a member of Wassamassaw Baptist Church and had served with the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 9305; Union 37 in Baltimore; Berkeley Lodge No. 269; and an avid NASCAR fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter- Terri Eversman and her husband, Merrill, of Salisbury, MD.; two sons- Bruce Collins and his wife, Shirl, of Salisbury, MD.; Thomas Collins of Salisbury, MD.; two step sons- Michael Thomas and his wife, Olivia, of Greenwood, SC; William Peagler and his wife, Neva, of Moncks Corner; one step daughter- Cynthia Cogdill and her husband, Robert, of Cross; two sisters- Wilsie Padon and her husband, Robert, of Powellville, MD.; Betty Atkins and her husband, Jim, of Laurel, MD.; one brother- Gerald Collins of Allendale, Delaware; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at Wassamassaw Baptist Church, Saturday morning, May 2, 2015, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 o’clock until the hour of service.
