Nancy Simmons

Nancy Maxine Simmons went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2021 at the age of 78. She was born to Vincent and Lillian Shaw on May 11, 1943 in Great Falls, Montana.

Nancy met her husband, Frank Marshall Simmons, in 1956, they married the following year when she was only 14.

Nancy was preceded in death by Frank, her loving husband of 54 years. Together they raised their four children and three of their grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister Bonnie (Neal) Motichka of Glacier Park, Montana and brother Tim (Billie) Wilkinson of Great Falls, Montana. Nancy is also survived by her children Larry (Pam) Simmons of Cameron, North Carolina, Christie (Gerald) Logan of Ladson, Mark (Kathy) Simmons of Summerville, and Pam (John) DeBoard of Goose Creek. She is further survived by the three grandchildren she raised: Joshua (Kim) Simmons, Kenneth Simmons, and Stephanie Simmons; as well as Bradley, Melodie, Kathryn, Michael, Justin, Sierrah, Katie, Jeffrey, Serenity, Bubba, Stephanie, Christina, Justin and Shannon. Nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends will miss her deeply.

Nancy loved to cook and always enjoyed her Girls Trips. She was passionate about spending time with family and never met a stranger. Nancy was always whistling a tune wherever she went and if you were lucky you got to hear her play the harmonica.

Her funeral service will be held at New Covenant Church of God, North Charleston, Saturday July 31, 2021 at 1 o’clock. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 to 1 o’clock.
