Nancy Cox Mixson, 73, of Hanahan, wife of Dewey A. Mixson, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013.
Nancy was born January 3, 1940, in Tampa, Florida, the daughter of James M. Cox and Lennie Scott Cox.
She was very involved in the activities at her church(Faith Assembly of God) leadership classes, mission trips, and Sunday School teacher. She was a counselor at Coastal Evaluation Center and had founded two pregnancy centers.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are - daughters - Taryn M. Moorer of Goose Creek; Suzanne Clark and her husband, Robert, of Summerville; Sharon Lemanski and her husband, Joe, of Summerville; sons - Jeffery Scott Mixson and his wife, Debra, of Bonneau; Arnold Kevin Mixson and his wife, Connie, of Goose Creek; 2 sisters - Margaret C. Whitley and her husband, Bill, of Hanahan; Barbara C. Barber and her husband, Rick, of N. Charleston; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held in Faith Assembly of God Church Sunday afternoon, December 22, 2013, at 2 o'clock. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel between 6 and 8 o'clock Saturday evening, and at the church between 1 and 2 o'clock on Sunday.
