Nancy Anne (Megarry) Almeida

February 8, 1941 — October 19, 2021

Nancy A. Almeida (Megarry), age 80 passed peacefully into Heaven on Tuesday October 19, 2021 shortly after 9:00 pm at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina after a brief illness.

Nancy was born in Worcester Massachusetts, the daughter of the late James and Rita (Joubert) Megarry.

She graduated from Shrewsbury High School Class of 1959, where she played the violin in the high school orchestra. She then attended Quinsigamond Community College and received a degree in business. She attended Faith Church in Moncks Corner S.C where she enjoyed worshiping the word of God as well as in her spare time at home.

She enjoyed traveling on vacations which included cruises and a trip to Las Vegas and the Florida Keys. She also enjoyed line dancing and performing.

She was also quite the artist and spent many hours painting beautiful landscapes, she won first place blue ribbons in both the Orangeburg County and South Carolina State Fairs. If she wasn’t painting, she was cutting trees or gardening, she loved weeding out the garden most of all.

Nancy loved spending time with her family and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she would never pass up a chance for a dinner out, especially if it was KFC or a McDonalds Mocha Frappe with Fries. She would often comment on all the beautiful pictures the great-grandkids would send her.

She is survived by two sons, Jonathan Charles Rocheleau and his wife Heidi of Boylston, Massachusetts and Matthew Charles Almeida and his wife Jenni of Summerville, South Carolina; a sister- Rita “Babe (Colton) Landers and her brother-in-law Danny Landers, both of Bonneau, South Carolina; three bonus children- Deana (Rupard) Coleman, Charles "Spooly" Rupard, both of Banner Elk, North Carolina and Christine Delman of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great- granddaughters as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved kitty, Smokey. She was predeceased by her loving son, Brian Christopher Jezyk of Millbury, Massachusetts; three brothers- Kenneth William Megarry, David Edward Megarry and James Arthur Megarry, Sr. all of Worcester Ma.; a great grandson- Carl “CJ” Parrott, lll.

A private celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date; a graveside ceremony will also be scheduled at a later date at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester, Mass.
