Mildred Sahlmann Koester

February 26, 1921 — October 19, 2009

Mildred S. Koester, 88, of Moncks Corner, S. C., widow of John H. Koester, Sr., entered
into eternal rest on Monday, October 19, 2009.


Born February 26, 1921 in Charleston, S. C., she was the daughter of Carson John Nicholas
Sahlmann and Adeline Kohnarens Sahlmann. She was the former owner of Koester's Red
and White and owner and President of Koester Realty in Moncks Corner.


She was a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Charleston Board of Realtors,
as well as Charleston Trident MLS Association. She was a member of St. Michael Lutheran
Church.


She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John Harold Koester, Jr., and June Stidham
Koester of Moncks Corner; one daughter - Linda K. Gunnin of Moncks Corner; six grandchildren -
Ray Phillips and wife Nancy of Indianapolis, Indiana; Chisty Koch and husband Dave of Roscoe,
Illinois; Tammy McAllister and husband Andy of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Paige Benton and husband
Keith of Bonneau, S.C.; Charles C. Gunnin, Jr. "Clint" and wife Kelly of Summerville, S.C.;
and John H. Koester, III "Trey" and wife Missy of Moncks Corner; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband John H. Koester, Sr., and 2 sons - Ronald E
Koester and Richard A. Koester.


Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2009, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at RUSSELL
FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Her funeral service will be held at St. Michael Lutheran
Church in Moncks Corner on Friday, October 23, at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Berkeley
Memorial Gardens.
