Maywood Gaskins

Maywood Gaskins, 73, of Shulerville, a drywall contractor, and husband of Betty Britt Gaskins, died Monday evening, December 27, 2010, at his residence.

Maywood was born July 15, 1937, in Berkeley County, son of Ernest Gaskins and Lottie Ackerman Gaskins. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son – Maywood M. Gaskins and his companion, Patsy Weatherford, of Macedonia; a daughter – Betty Mixson and her husband, Ray, of Moncks Corner; 4 sisters – Ernestine Faulk and her husband, Guy, of Bethera; Weasie Thames and her husband, William of Macedonia; Myrtis Burbage and her husband, Al, of Charleston; and Jeanette Murphy of Bethera; 2 brothers – Eddie Gaskins and his wife, Cathy, of Bethera; and Levi Gaskins and his wife, Barbara, of Lamberttown; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; best friend – Mike Gaskins; and special friend and family helper, Pam Gaskins. He was predeceased by a sister – Christine Atkins and a grandson – Jessie McKinley Gaskins.

His funeral service was held Thursday, December 30, 2010, in Moncks Corner Church of God in Santee Circle, at 12 noon. Interment was in Halfway Creek Cemetery directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner.
