Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Reaves, 60, of Moncks Corner, wife of Marion Reaves, died
Wednesday, March 24, 2010, in a Charleston hospital.
Libby was born October 8, 1949, at Georgetown, the daughter of Elbert Lee and
Mary Thomas Lee.
She was a member of Anderson Baptist Church in the Santee Circle Community, where she was in the
Combined Choir and served on the Pastors Aid Committee; she was previously employed at Short Stay Naval Recreational Area.
She loved to cook for family and friends and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are a son – Daniel Jackson of Moncks Corner;
4 step-daughters – Evangela Hobson of Goose Creek; Marionette Reaves of Charlotte, N.C.;
Mary Eaddy of Moncks Corner; Takisha Davis of Chester, PA; a sister – Judy Moore and her
husband, Heyward, of Georgetown; a brother – Carlos Lee and his wife, Kathy, of Andrews;
a grandson; 12 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and her best friend – Brenda
Dukes. She was pre-deceased by 5 brothers and a sister.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, in Anderson Baptist Church, 1159 Old Black Oak
Road (Santee Circle), Moncks Corner, at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery
directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Relatives and friends may call at Russell
Funeral Chapel between 6 and 8 o’clock Friday evening.
