Lynn Howard Haltiwanger

Carolyn Lynn Howard Haltiwanger, 74, of Hanahan, wife of Harold W. Haltiwanger, passed away Friday evening, December 30, 2016, in a Charleston hospital.

Lynn was born August 3, 1942, in Berkeley County, the daughter of Oscar Posey Howard and Hazel Edwards Howard.

A member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Charleston, Lynn was a loving wife, mother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend. She may have had only one child , but she was the mother to many and considered a sister to even more. A graduate of Nova University with a Bachelor's in Psychology/Behavior Science. Lynn had a love and passion for Geneology. To her, researching her family's past, helped her to remember and honor her family. She shared this with anyone that asked for her help in researching their past.

She served on the History Committee of St. John's Lutheran Church and was co-chair of the Tovey Circle. She retired from hotel sales and marketing.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter - Shannnon L. Haltiwanger and her fiancé, James "Jamie" Pagenkopf of Denver, CO; and brothers - John Edward "Butch" Howard and his wife, Pat, of Charleston; John Robert "Bob" Howard and his wife, Stephanie, of Rutherfordton, N.C.; Roger Ernest Howard and his wife, Katie of Ill.; a sister- Patricia Jane Lynes-Tway. She was predeceased by sister Ellendel Howard Ross and her husband, Lester, of Greenville, SC.

A graveside service will be held at St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery, in Pinopolis, Saturday morning, January 7, 2017, at 11 o'clock. A gathering for family and friends will follow at St. Michael Lutheran Church, Moncks Corner.
