Louise Locklair Ballentine peacefully passed away August 7, 2024. She resided in Summerville, SC. She was born January 7, 1937 in Berkely County. Louise was predeceased by her husband, Harold A Ballentine, Sr.

She graduated from Berkely High School in Moncks Corner and attended the University of SC. Prior to moving back to SC Louise was a member of Zebulon United Methodist Church in Zebulon, NC. where she was a faithful and active member. Louise loved her Lord, her church and her family. She was a true child advocate, having worked in the field of child psychiatry in Columbia for over 25 years.

Louise was quite the cook. She received great joy in preparing for those she loved and enjoyed being with. A giving, vivacious and gracious one. She never missed an opportunity to grab a fishing rod, take over a kitchen, gift her jelly preserves and pickles, spend time with family and make a friend everywhere she went.

She is survived by daughters- Leecia B (Matthew) Bolton of Edisto Island, SC, Patricia B (James) Deal of Youngsville, NC and son Harold A (Susie) Ballentine of Greenville, SC: sister- Lurline Fowler of Atlanta, GA; brothers- Reid (Linda) Locklair of Pinopolis, SC and John (Jewell) Locklair of Summerville, SC. She was preceded in death by her loving son, Michael Reid Ballentine.

Louise loved so dearly her 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Services in celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 17th at Russell Funeral Chapel in Moncks Corner, SC. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 and a service following at 12:00 PM. The family will have a private graveside ceremony immediately following.

The family wishes to extend gratitude and thanks to Kate Daughtery and her staff at The Bridge of Charleston, The Blake of Carnes Crossroad and Gentiva Hospice. You all cared so passionately for our Mom as a resident and a patient. But most appreciated is the love you showed and offered her each and every day.

In lieu of flowers, Louise requested any memorials be sent to the Zebulon UMC Baby Pantry, Zebulon United Methodist Church, 121 W. Gannon Ave., Zebulon, NC 27597
