Lois Shealy Almers

Lois Shealy Almers, 86, of St. Stephen, widow of Robert F. Almers, Jr., passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs.Lois was born March 8, 1928, in Berkeley County, the daughter of Sydney J. Shealy and Essie Wyndham Shealy.

Surviving are her son – Raymond Almers and his wife, Margaret, of Summerville; a daughter- Barbara Matthews of St. Stephen; 5 grandchildren – Tony Moody of St. Stephen; Paige Taylor and her husband, Les, of Summerville; Rhett Moody and his wife, Rhonda, of St. Stephen; Amy Hampton and her husband, Roger, of Summerville; and Travis Almers and his wife, Elizabeth, of St. George; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters- Ruby Krill of Summerville, Francis Wyndham of Bonneau, Lucy George of Valdosta, Ga., Sydney Lee of Summerville, Olene Jernigan of St. Stephen, Genele Kemmerlin of Cheraw; 3 brothers- Charles Shealy of St. Stephen, Jerry Shealy of Florence and David Shealy of St. Stephen;
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a sister- Alice Stowers and a son-in-law Clarence S. Matthews.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Friday morning, November 7, 2014, at Macedonia Christian Church. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL between 6 and 8 o’clock Thursday evening, November 6, 2014.
