Lenwood R. Beasley, 88, of North Charleston passed away Monday September 16, 2019.
Lenwood was born August 5, 1931 in Four Oaks, North Carolina, a son of Johnnie E. Beasley and Ila Bell Strickland Beasley.
A graduate of Cross High School, Lenwood served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired boiler maker who enjoyed dancing, horses and spending time with his family.
Surviving are four children- Terri Jo Nichols of Columbus, Ohio; Lenwood Beasley II and his wife, Frances of Hanahan; Belinda Beasley Pace of Ridgeville; Ila Swann and her husband, Ronnie of Newnan, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a sister- Ruthie Dixon; three brothers- John Beasley, Jay Beasley and Jerry Beasley. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his former wife and friend- Evelyn Henry Beasley; sisters- Marion Williams and Grace Lilienthal and a brother- Wade Beasley.
His funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Thursday afternoon September 19, 2019 at 1 o’clock. Interment will follow in Plantation Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12 o’clock until the hour of service.
