Laura Crabtree Grooms

Laura Crabtree Grooms, 77, of Moncks Corner, widow of William T. Grooms, Sr. died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at a North Charleston hospital.

Mrs. Grooms was born on July 22, 1935, in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was the daughter of James H. Crabtree, Sr. and B. Nell Loper Crabtree.

She was a member of the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the Seavy Carroll Circle, the Wide Awakers, and was active in the church nursery for over thirty years.

Surviving are one son, William T. Grooms, Jr; two daughters, Julie A. Radich, her husband Joe; and Teresa A. Bowen, all of Moncks Corner; one grandson, Joseph T. Radich, III; four granddaughters, Alexis M. Radich her husband Ryan, Meagen Bowen , W. Brooke Grooms, Olivia G. Grooms; one great grandson, Wyatt Bowen; and several nieces and nephews.

Laura’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Russell Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, 200 Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, S. C. or the Biggin Cemetery Association, c/o Oliver Buckles, P. O. Box 65, Moncks Corner, S. C.
