Laura Surgeon Edwards PINOPOLIS – Laura Kathryn
Surgeon Edwards, 85, of
Pinopolis, South Carolina, went
gentle into that good night on
Thursday, September 21, 2017.

Visitation will be one-hour prior
to her funeral service, on Tuesday,
September 26, 2017, 11:00 am to
12:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of
Moncks Corner, 419 West Main
Street. The funeral service begins
at 12 pm. Interment, Biggin Cemetery,
Moncks Corner. Arrangements by
Russell Funeral Home, Moncks Corner, SC

Laura was born December 26, 1931 in
Dunbar, West Virginia, daughter of the
late William Hudson Surgeon and Nellie Van Meter. She met her future husband, a forester, Acie, in Virginia. They made their home on the
Eastern Shore in Virginia. They fell in love with
the way of life: the seashore, crabbing, shrimping and the like. When Acie was offered
a job with Westvaco, they made the move to South Carolina. Her passions were her family, her cats, bridge, gardening and nature.

Laura was predeceased by her daughter, Kathryn Edwards Robinson, and her husband, Acie Edwards. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Leopard and her husband, Mark; two grandsons: Robert, “Robbie,” Robinson and Christopher Leopard; and a great-granddaughter, Kassidy Leopard.
