Larry B. Mixson, Jr.

Larry B. Mixson, Jr., 76, of Bonneau, retired Sr. Technician Associate with Santee Cooper, husband of Darlene Dennis Mixson, passed away April 14, 2017.

Larry was born February 17, 1941 in Charleston, a son of Larry B. Mixson, Sr. and Kathleen Hodge Mixson.

A Macedonia High School graduate, Larry was of the Christian faith and had served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mt. Hope Lodge #128, York Rites and the Omar Shrine Temple. He was a dedicated “Roadrunner” transferring patients to and from the Shriners Hospital.

Surviving in addition to his wife are- two sons- Willie B. Mixson of Macedonia; Lester Ray Mixson and his wife, Lavonda, of Moncks Corner; two daughters- Theresa Peterra and her husband, Craig, of Macedonia; Stacey Judy and her husband, Steve, of Mt. Pleasant; a step-daughter- Dee Dee Kessler of Macedonia; a step-son- Steven Kessler also of Macedonia; a brother- Tom Mixson and his wife, Barbara Jean, of St. Stephen; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons- Randy and Johnny Mixson; a brother- Jim Mixson; a sister- Elizabeth Mixson Bryant; a grandson-Seth Mizzell and a great grandson- Jameson Sager.

His memorial service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Monday evening, April 17, 2017, at 6 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 o’clock until the hour of service.
