Pamela Kay McPherson Lail, known affectionately as Kay to her many friends and loved ones, was born on January 9, 1964, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. She departed this life peacefully at home on January 7, 2025, just two days shy of her 61st birthday, after a valiant fight with sarcoidosis.
Kay was the daughter of Nelson T. McPherson Sr. and Lelila Small McPherson. She is survived by her son, Jamie McPherson, and daughter, McKayla Lail, both of Moncks Corner, and grandchildren, Ryland Thomas and Evan Litchfield, brother Tommy McPherson and his wife Terry of Pinopolis, and sister Beth Cumbie and her husband Deryel of Bluffton.
For 15 years, Kay dedicated herself as a receptionist at McElveen Automotive Group where she combined her professional skills with her love for meeting people. She was also a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner.
She had an affinity for connecting with others, a passion she fulfilled through her various jobs that always involved interaction. One of Kay's favorite destinations for enjoyment was Buc-ee's. Above all, her most treasured moments were those spent with her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner, 112 E. Main St., Moncks Corner, S.C. 29461.
