Katie Jackson Yates, 87, of Moncks Corner, widow of James William Yates, passed away Saturday evening, April 28, 2018, at her residence.
Mrs. Yates was born July 19, 1930 in Moncks Corner, daughter of Nathanial Jackson and Gollie Smith.
She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a dedicated member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son - Dr. James W. Yates, Jr. and his wife, Sheila, of Conway; a daughter - Gerrell Dangerfield and her husband, Freddie, of Moncks Corner; and son - Franklin Yates and his wife, Susan, of Moncks Corner; grandchildren - Jessica Yates, Jamie Harper (Ben); David W. Dangerfield (Lauren); Philip Dangerfield (Melody); granddaughter - Katelyn Yates; step grandson - Mark Dangerfield; great-grandchildren - Presley Williams; Liam and Madelyn Harper; and Lori Mae Dangerfield; and one brother - Mack Jackson of Flint, Michigan.
Her funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, May 1, 2018, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
