Josephine “Josie” Risher Singletary, 81, of Pinopolis, wife of M. Farrell Singletary, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014, in Life Care Center of Charleston.
Josie was born May 6, 1933, in Eutawville, the daughter of Joseph Claude Risher and Annie Mizzell Risher.
She was a retired clerk of the Berkeley County Juvenile Court and was a member of Moncks Corner United Methodist Church where she served on the Administrative Board.
Surviving are a daughter – Donna Singletary Swift (Chris), of Denver, CO; two sons – Brian F. Singletary (Cindy), of Cross; and Blaine G. Singletary of Pinopolis; three sisters - Miriam Singletary; Rose Hilton and Laura Cross; two brothers - Derrell Risher and Roger Risher. 7 grandchildren – Brandon Singletary (Jennifer); Dabney Singletary; Clancy Swift; Riley Swift; Tayler Singletary, Nicholas Singletary; and Madison Singletary; 2 great grandchildren – Braedon Singletary and T.J. Hilton.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2014, in Moncks Corner United Methodist Church at 3 o’clock. Interment will follow in Black Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, MONCKS CORNER. The family will receive friends at Moncks Corner United Methodist Church from 2 o’clock until the hour of service.
