John Wesley Winter

John Wesley Winter, 84, of Cross, departed from this life on January 7, 2024, born January 2, 1940 in Charleston, SC.

John was the son of the late Charles Wesley Winter and Francis DeHay Winter-Nelson.

He is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Colburn (John) and three adopted children, Tammy Ritter (Rudy), Susan Winter and Ricky Winter (Susan).

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Shulie Nelson Shaver.

Professionally, John was a welder at Charleston Navy Yard, retired from General Electric and then drove a school bus for Dorchester County.

Above all else, John was liked by many. He loved NASCAR and hunting and enjoyed life.

John served in the US Army and was a Master Mason.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 pm., January 13, 2024 at Wassamasaw Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials my be made to the Wassamasaw Baptist Church Grow Fund, 704 Wassamasaw Lane, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
