John Wiley Sellers, 77, of Cross, died Saturday in the Charleston VA
Hospital.
His memorial service will be at 1 o'clock Thursday afternnon at
Friendship United Methodist Church, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL
CHAPEL, Moncks Corner.
John was born November 17, 1931, at Kings Mountain, N.C., a son of
Schenck Sellers and Allene Sneed Sellers.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the VFW and
of Action Wildlife. He was a well respected member of the Cross
community. "Captain John" was a guide at Black's Fish Camp for
30 years, specializing in BIG catfish. Having been featured in SPORTS
AFIELD several times, he was recognized as the 5th best catfisherman
in the WORLD.
Surviving are four brothers- Pete Sellers, Gene Sellers and his wife Thelma, Wayne Sellers and his wife Angie, and Nelson Sellers all of Kings Mountain, N.C.; one sister, Mary Sellers, also of Kings Mountain, N.C.; and a step-
daughter, Diana Raper of Cross.
