John R. "Doc" Manning

Manning, John R. “Doc”, 68, of Macedonia, husband of Brenda Gunter Manning, passed away peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his family Tuesday, January 27, 2015.

John was born January 5, 1947, in Pittsburg, Pa., son of Herman C. and Elizabeth “Bet” Manning and Margaret P. Jak.

He had been employed at the Charleston Navy Shipyard, Shop 31, and had served 19 years with the Berkeley County EMS. John was of the Christian faith and was also a member of Hell Hole ABATE.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter-Rhonda Hill and her husband, Rodney, of Macedonia; a son- Dominic Lowe and his wife Mandi ; grandchildren Brandon Hill, Carrie Hill and Mia Lowe; 2 brothers-George Jak and Eric Jak both of Pennsylvania; 2 sisters- Maxine McArdle; Gayle Koning of Indiana; a sister-in-law Louella Lynn of Jupitar, Fl.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Kimberly Bliss Manning; step- brother William “Bill” Lynn; and sister Victoria Jak McConnell.

A visitation drop in will be held Saturday afternoon, from 3 o’clock to 5 o’clock, January 31, 2015 at Providence Baptist Church, 2069 North Hwy 17-A Macedonia.
