John Lewis Hodson Iii

John Lewis Hodson, III, 46, of Moncks Corner, husband of Rachel Whiddon Hodson, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

John was born April 2, 1972 in Muncie Indiana, a son of Karen Herbert Hillyer and the late John Lewis Hodson.

A veteran of the US Navy, John had also served in the US Army Reserves. He was currently employed as a data center facility technician with Google.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his step father- R. Ray Hillyer; two daughters- Ellie Hodson and Molly Hodson of Moncks Corner; two brothers- Gabe Hodson of Summerville; Israel Hillyer and his wife, Janina of Alvin, Tx; four sisters- Selina Metcalfe and her husband Chris, of Dickenson, Tx; Ginger Widener and her husband, Mark, of Ladson; Naomi Lattin and her husband, Matt, of Summerville; Katie Gill and her husband, Tim, of Moncks Corner; two grandmothers- Sallie Herbert and Barbara Ambler.

His graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, 684 Broughton Road, Moncks Corner, SC 29461, Saturday morning, September 8, 2018, at 11:30. Interment, with military honors, will follow. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel, 107 West Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461, prior to the graveside service from 10 to 11 o’clock a.m.
