John Charles Grant

John Charles Grant, 59, of Moncks Corner, husband of Julie Schellhorn Grant, Supervisor of Vector Management at Santee Cooper, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018.

John was born February 18, 1959 in Belleville, Illinois, a son of Mary Gasaway Grant of Goose Creek and the late Roscoe Claude Grant.

A graduate of Mississippi State University, John obtained a Masters Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries and was a member of the South Carolina Mosquito Control Association. He was also an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Pinopolis.

John’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He embodied the phrase “Laugh Often, Live Well, Love Much!” He loved everything baseball but was especially fond of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons- Daniel Conner Grant and Aaron Patrick Grant of Moncks Corner; sister- Cynthia Louise Grant of Goose Creek; two brothers- Michael Joseph Grant and his wife, Lorraine, of Statesville, NC; Christopher Matthew Grant of Kure Beach, NC as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pinopolis on Friday July 13, 2018 at 2 o'clock. The family will receive friends at a reception in the Parish Hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made to Trinity Church, 1915 Pinopolis Road, Pinopolis, SC 29469, in memory of John.
