John Fleetwood Dennis

John Fleetwood Dennis, 63, of Summerville, construction supervisor with Mundy Construction, husband of Maxine Clark Dennis, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Veterans Hospital.

John was born July 23, 1950, in Berkeley County, the son of John F. Dennis, Sr and Evelyn Brinson Dennis Paige.

He was a member of Berkeley Hunting Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are 2 sons - Anthony Dennis and his wife, Angel, of Bonneau; and Larry Griffith, Jr of Summerville; 3 daughters - Charmaine D. Shillinglaw and her husband, John Mark, of Bonneau; Kim Mercado and her husband, Ola Fendert, of San Francisco, CA; and Heather Phillips and her husband, Wesley, of Summerville; 3 sisters - Elizabeth Wrenn and her husband, Rembert, of Bonneau; Debbie Thomas and her husband, Wilson, of Bonneau; and Annie Primeau and her husband, Richard, of Bonneau; 5 grandchildren - Ormand Shillinglaw, John Philip Shillinglaw, Amber Katelyn Dennis, Emily Anne Shillinglaw, and Reese Mica Phillips; a great granddaughter - Peyton Elizabeth Dennis; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning, January 24, 2014, at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Bonneau Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel, Thursday evening, January 23, 2014, between 6 and 8 o'clock.
