BROPHY, John Thomas
John Thomas Brophy, 62, of Moncks Corner, retired from the U.S. Army National Guard
and from insurance sales, died Tuesday in a Charleston hospital. He was the widower of
Vickie Barnes Brophy.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner.
Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Brophy was born June 28, 1946, at Sumter, a son of James Brophy and Helen Hodge
Brophy. He was a Moncks Corner volunteer fireman and a member of the Berkeley
High Booster Club.
Surviving are a brother - Jimmy Brophy of Orlando, Florida; 3 sons - John Christopher
Brody and his wife, Bonita, of Dorchester; James Michael Brophy and his wife, Joyce,
of Moncks Corner; and Kevin Noel Brophy of Moncks Corner; 4 grandchildren -
Magen Howard; Tyler Brophy; William Singletary; and Jonathan Brophy; and several
nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday evening.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Russell Funeral Chapel Memorial Fund
for John Brophy, c/o Farmers and Merchants Bank, 221 East Main Street, Moncks
Corner, S. C. 29461.
