Jimmie S. Beaty, 79, of Moncks Corner, U.S. Navy, retired, husband of Mary Elizabeth “Sister”
Williams Beaty, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012, in a North Charleston Hospital.

Jim was born May 7, 1932, in Jamestown, TN, the son of McMillan Beaty and Ollie Reagan Beaty.

He was a retired Navy CPO, having served in the Korean War; also having retired from the Weapons Station. A member of First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner, Jim was a lifetime member of the VFW; member of Masonic Lodge 269; Omar Shrine Club; and former member of Berkeley Shrine Club. He rode diesel submarines as a Navy CPO Navy engineman.

Jim and “Sister” enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and many other activities together. He was a wonderful husband and was her closest companion.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his sister-in-law, Faye Beaty of Jamestown, TN; niece – Patsy Potter and her husband, Lloyd, of Jamestown; special adopted grandchild – Ian Stansbury of Moncks Corner; 4 brothers-in-law, Willson Williams and his wife, JoAnn,of Mt. Pleasant; Frederick Eugene Williams and his wife, Jane, of Pinopolis; John B. Williams and his wife, Pop, of Pinopolis; Thomas E. Williams, Sr. and his wife, Ann, of Pinopolis; 9 nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers – Dilmon Beaty; McMillan B. Beaty, Jr; and Clyde “Hutch” Beaty.

His funeral service will be at First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner, Tuesday morning, March 27, 2012, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel Monday afternoon, March 26, between 5 and 7 o’clock, and at the church Tuesday morning from 10 o'clock until the hour of service.
