Jewell Kizer Bowzard, 101, of Moncks Corner, passed away Saturday September 23, 2017.
Mrs. Jewell was born in Dorchester County, a daughter of the late Perry D. Kizer and Mary Elizabeth Reeves Kizer, on February 19, 1916. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner, where she taught Sunday School and worked with the Daycare.
She was a member of the Berkeley Chapter 112 O.E.S. and a past Matron. Mrs. Bowzard enjoyed traveling, she lived in Cambodia for 13 months where she was the children’s Sunday School teacher; during her travels she went on a two week mission trip to Puerto Rico. Mrs. Bowzard was a member of the Dorcas Quilting Club at the Indian Field Methodist Church and quite a seamstress. She also loved gardening and home making.
Predeceased by her husband, Samuel Bowzard; two daughters- Patricia Bowzard and Betty Jean Mack; five sisters and three brothers.
Surviving are a son- John Samuel Bowzard and his wife, Ellie, of Moncks Corner; seven grandchildren; several great-grands and great-great-grands.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Russell Funeral Chapel at 2 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 1 o’clock until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Indian Field United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2030 Hwy 15 N, Saint George, South Carolina.
