James W. Pipkin, 90, of Jamestown, widower of Corine Parker Pipkin, died
Wednesday morning, January 27, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Pipkin was born December 26, 1919, in Jamestown, the son of Edward
Pringle Pipkin and Margaret Shaw Pipkin.
A member of St. James United Methodist Church, Mr. Pipkin was a retired farmer, having been a former Berkeley County Farmer of the Year, and a former member of Jamestown Town Council.
Surviving are a daughter – Jimmie Kaye Murray and her husband, Mark, of Jamestown; a son – Retired Colonel Roy P. Pipkin and his wife, Christine, of Jamestown; 5 grandchildren – Gregg Murray;
Tonya Wagner; Alexa M. Rogers; Major Brian J. Pipkin; and Ashley R. Pipkin; 4 greatgrandchildren – Hailey Kaye Tolson; Blake G. Rogers; Sofie A. Rogers; and Katie C. Rogers; and one nephew – Glenn H. Pipkin.
His funeral service will be held in Jamestown at St. James United Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2010, at 2 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Friends may call at Russell Funeral Chapel this Friday evening, January 29, between 6 and 8 o’clock.
