James D Hammond

James D. Hammond, 55, of Moncks Corner, retired owner of Hammond Marine, passed away October 30, 2012, in a Charleston hospital.

Jimmy was born December 13, 1956, in Charleston, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Hammond.

He attended First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner, and had previously been a member of Divine Redeemer Church. Jimmy was a member of Berkeley Masonic Lodge 269 and the Triple B Duck Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Hanahan, are his wife, Lynne Oliver Hammond; two sons – James Ellis Hammond and Kenneth Evan Hammond; stepson – Oliver Eugene Harrelson; stepdaughter – Jennifer Lynne Harrelson, all of Moncks Corner; two sisters – Gloria Blanton and her husband, Marty; and Karen Funderburke and her husband, Michael; a brother – John Hammond and his wife, Sandra; brother-in-law Gene Oliver and his wife, Cathy; father and mother-in-law – Eugene F. and Lynnette B. Oliver.

The memorial service for Jimmy will be held in First Presbytieran Church of Moncks Corner, 419 W. Main Street, Moncks Corner, S.C., Thursday, November 1, 2012, at 3:30 in the afternoon.. The family will receive friends following the service at the church between 4:30 and 6:30.
