James Leemon Carner, Jr. 71, of Moncks Corner, husband of Anita Rockwell Carner, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019.
James was born May 14, 1948 in Charleston, son of James L. Carner, Sr. and Racelia Lambert Carner.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, James was a member of Moncks Corner United Methodist Church. He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam and worked as a Police Officer for 17 years in Charleston County. James was a Shriner and a member of Omar Shrine Temple. He loved doting on his grandchildren and fishing and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters- Angelia S. Carner of Moncks Corner; Dixie L. Mobley and her husband, Douglas, of Moncks Corner; two sons- James L. Carner, III “Blake” and his wife, Ashley Huggins Carner of Moncks Corner; Leemon E. Carner “L.E.” and his wife, Denise Vaughn Carner of Moncks Corner; four grandchildren- Harley Bowen, Jamie Thomas, Emily Carner and Hayden Carner; a great granddaughter- Islah Bowen In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister- Ann Elizabeth Carner.
His memorial service, with military honors, will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Saturday November 2, 2019 at 12 o’clock noon. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 11 o’clock until the hour of service.
