Jacquelyn (Cockrell) Mims

March 21, 1931 — March 28, 2020

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Cockrell Mims, 89, of Ladson widow of Clarence Aimar Mims passed away peacefully on Saturday March 28, 2020.

Jackie was born March 21, 1931 in Edgefield County a daughter of William Louis Cockrell and Leonora Violet Rawl Cockrell.

A retired administrator for The Baptist College, now known as Charleston Southern, Jackie proudly served her country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are a brother- John O’ Brien and his wife, Betty; a granddaughter- Janice Schumaker and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she is predeceased by a daughter- Patricia Mims Schumaker Hyman and a grandson William Aimer Schumaker.

Her funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel Tuesday March 31, 2020 at 2 o’clock. Due to the current COVID-19 rules of social distancing, the family invites you to join them for the service via live stream by visiting Russell Funeral Chapel’s Facebook page.

There will be a private burial at St. John’s Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinopolis.
